When most out of state folks hear Florida, they think Disney World. Sometimes, I have to remind them of the lovely beaches, golf communities, and fantastic restaurants that we have as well. Either way, if you’re in Hernando County, or plan to one day live here, two of the perks is that you are right by the water and under 2 hours from Disney.
So even though this isn’t a highlight in Hernando, I’ve still grouped it under a Highlight of Hernando simply because we live so close!
It comes as no surprise, but, Disney can get very crowded. The rule of thumb is that if there are days where there is no school, expect that people will be flocking to the happiest place on earth. The best time to avoid crowds is right when school is back in session, and right after the winter break.
Magic Kingdom is the original park, and it has seen major changes in recent years, including Fantasy Land and the changes with Toon Town turning into Storybook Circus.
Fantasy Land has a new Snow White ride called Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
Dumbo had also been moved to the Storytime Circus area. There are now two Dumbo rides.
New additions also include the Under the Sea ride, Be Our Guest Restaurant, and Rapunzel’s Tower.
Of course, the classics still remain, including Snow White, Peter Pan, and It’s a Small World. The Haunted Mansion still scares, and the other rides like Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain are still rolling.
Be sure, if you are not too tired, to stay for the evening. The lights make this place just as magical at night. Also, don’t forget the fireworks!
There are park-hopper options, annual pass options, and day-to-day passes. Be sure to check out the website for more information.
