Hernando Beach is a lovely waterfront community (in a town of the same name) sitting on the Gulf of Mexico and offering a variety of homes. The community, consisting of fewer than 900 homes and approximately 2000 people, is made up of three neighborhoods.
The northern section of Hernando Beach has direct gulf access and is not deed-restricted. Hernando Beach South does not have direct gulf access and is deed-restricted, which among other things prohibits the parking of boats in yards. Boat owners in Hernando Beach South, as well as those in the central neighborhood, must use a boat lift to access the Gulf waters.
Hernando Beach boasts an active community beach club but no actual beach. Residents looking to sunbathe on a sandy beach make the short drive north to Pine Island Beach.
